Resume of Zhang Chunmei
Zhang Chunmei graduated from Liaoning Normal University in 1989 and embarked on her career as a university ideological and political theory instructor. She pursued full-time further studies at Renmin University of China from 1991 to 1992 and earned her master’s degree from Liaoning Normal University between 1998 and 2000, accumulating a total of 37 years of teaching experience.
She developed a deep passion for literature and linguistics during her university years and has read an extensive range of classic works from home and abroad. She has long aspired to launch a career in Chinese language instruction.
Starting in 2024, Ms. Zhang has worked as a teacher of Chinese as a Foreign Language at the School of International Exchange, Bohai University, delivering Chinese courses for overseas students hailing from Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and multiple African countries and regions. Drawing on decades of teaching experience, she excels at communicating with learners. Open-minded, warm, approachable, earnest, dedicated, patient and responsible in teaching, she is widely popular among international students.
Two years ahead of retirement, upon the university’s employment needs and thanks to her rich teaching experience and personal charisma, she was recruited by the School of International Education, Bohai University to teach Chinese to foreign learners. She has obtained an advanced qualification certificate for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages with international accreditation. On the verge of retirement, she chooses to start a new chapter of her life, devoting her lifelong expertise to international Chinese education, facilitating people-to-people exchanges between China and other nations and contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative.
Despite approaching retirement age, she enjoys good physical health and abundant energy to fully undertake Chinese teaching duties. Having spent 37 years working with young university students, her daily routine is well aligned with the schedule and pace of international Chinese teaching.

She has participated in more than 20 research initiatives at national, ministerial, provincial and university levels, including National Social Science Fund projects and Ministry of Education projects.
PublicationsShe has authored 1 monograph, co-authored 2 works with another scholar, and compiled multiple textbooks either as chief editor, associate editor or contributing author. Over 40 academic papers have been published in core journals and newspapers such as China Education Daily, Research in Higher Education of China, Theoretical Front in Higher Education, Party Building and Ideological Education in Schools, Social Scientists, Liaoning Education Research, Journal of Liaoning University and Journal of Liaoning Normal University.
