  • Details of the test

    I. Level setting

    According to the Common European Language Reference Framework (CEFR), Dutch proficiency is divided into six levels: A1-C2. The details are as follows:

    A1 (beginner): Can understand and use simple everyday words, such as greeting, introducing oneself, etc.

    A2 (basic level): Understand simple sentences and common expressions, can talk about daily life, family and other topics.

    B1 (intermediate): able to understand common topics, make simple and coherent expressions, and communicate in basic situations such as travel and work.

    B2 (Intermediate): able to understand the main content of complex texts, communicate fluently with native speakers, and express opinions clearly.

    C1 (Advanced): able to understand long articles, express fluently and accurately, and use the language flexibly and accurately.

    C2 (proficient level): close to native language level, able to understand and express complex abstract content, and use the language freely.

    2. Examination content

    Listening comprehension: A1-A2 selects slow daily conversations, such as shopping, greetings, etc.; B1-B2 increases news, stories, etc., with moderate speed; C1-C2 uses academic lectures, original film and television, etc., with fast speed.

    Oral expression: A1-A2 through human-computer dialogue, reading words and short sentences, simple questions and answers; B1-B2 situational dialogue, topic description; C1-C2 in-depth discussion with the examiner on professional topics, giving speeches.

    Reading comprehension: A1-A2 are simple passages with pictures to test basic understanding; B1-B2 have a variety of styles and length to test detail understanding; C1-C2 involve academic papers to test analytical and generalization skills.

    Writing ability: A1-A2 write simple words and sentences to describe pictures; B1-B2 write short articles, such as narrative and expository articles; C1-C2 write argumentative essays and academic reports, with clear views and logic.

    3. Examination form

    Listening and written test: the online computer test is used, which is completed within a limited time. The system will automatically time and collect the paper.

    Oral test: real-time video call, with professional teachers as examiners, or intelligent oral assessment system to assist in scoring.

    Iv. Scoring criteria

    Listening and reading: objective questions are graded according to the correct or wrong answers, subjective questions are formulated according to the completeness of key points and other dimensions, and teachers are evaluated manually.

    Speaking: scores are given in terms of pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary use, content, etc., such as pronunciation accounts for 30%, fluency accounts for 30%, etc.

    Writing: score from three aspects of content, structure and language. The content should have clear viewpoints, the structure should be clear, and the language should be examined for vocabulary richness.

    V. Examination schedule

    Regular exams: Exams are organized at fixed times every quarter and the plan is announced in advance.

    Test immediately: For A1-A2 level, candidates will be arranged to take the test within one week after successful registration.
